What you will do

• Design and build scalable Python services and APIs (REST/GraphQL) for the core product.
• Evolve a resilient backend architecture and manage database schema design and performance tuning using SQL and ORMs.
• Develop and operate knowledge-graph powered services, focusing on data modeling and query optimization.
• Implement observability stacks including logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Ensure platform security through authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Mentor other engineers on backend best practices and maintain high code quality.

Requirements

• Extensive production experience building backend systems in Python.
• Hands-on experience with knowledge graphs and graph data stores (e.g., Neo4j, Neptune, ArangoDB).
• Strong SQL expertise and familiarity with ORMs like SQLAlchemy or Django ORM.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containers, and IaC.
• Proficiency with monitoring tools like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Must be located in Mexico City or Guadalajara, Mexico.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of TypeScript or Go.
• Experience with RAG systems, vector stores, and agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures such as Kafka, SQS, or PubSub.
• Knowledge of security compliance standards like OWASP and SOC2.
