What you will do

• Design and build high-performance, secure UIs and APIs that integrate with AI-driven applications.
• Develop and manage diverse data systems, including SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases, for performance and scalability.
• Drive implementation of frontend and backend services with a focus on maintainability and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve system bottlenecks to ensure high availability and low-latency performance across large-scale workloads.
• Leverage AWS services and Kubernetes to build and deploy production-grade systems at scale.
• Collaborate with ML researchers and scientists to integrate data pipelines and cloud infrastructure into scientific workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6–8+ years of engineering experience building and deploying large-scale production systems.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, and Python.
• Proven track record in schema design, indexing, and query optimization for SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Ability to design and scale RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience working in life sciences, materials science, or other research-heavy, data-intensive fields.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Flyte, Temporal, Airflow, or Prefect.
• Background in building LIMS, ELN, data platforms, or ML platform products.
• Experience designing systems for auditability, traceability, and regulated workflows.
