Chief Strategy & Transformation (Finance/Strategy)

On behalf of our client, a major Russian holding company (turnover up to RUB 300bn), we are seeking a transformation architect.
Location: Russia
We are looking for a Chief Strategy & Transformation to drive financial and operational efficiency across the holding. This is not a classic advisory role – this is a change architect position, working at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations.
What You Will Do:
1. Comprehensive Audit of the Current Operating Model
- Conduct a full diagnostic of the holding's financial and operational management model
- Identify bottlenecks, hidden inefficiencies, and outdated processes limiting growth
2. Data-Driven Growth Opportunities
- Work with large datasets from accounting and management reporting
- Develop and propose an optimal financial model to increase business profitability, backed by numbers
3. Strategic Development & M&A
- Design growth strategies for the holding and individual business units
- Lead M&A scenario planning (due diligence, integration, post-audit) – or, alternatively, drive deep operational optimisation where scaling is not efficient
What We Are Looking For:
Professional Experience:
- Proven track record in a similar role (Advisor, Head of Strategy, Head of Strategic/Financial Analysis) within a large diversified holding with turnover around 300 bln
- Mandatory background in Big 4 (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG) or top strategy consulting (McKinsey, BCG, Bain)
- Deep understanding of management accounting, financial modelling, and business performance metrics (ROI, EVA, NPV, etc.)
- Experience in M&A transactions (due diligence, integration, post-audit) is a strong advantage
- Proven success cases in operational process optimisation and cost reduction without compromising quality

- Systemic thinking: ability to see the entire business, understanding the interplay between finance, logistics, IT, and client service
- Structuring & visualisation: turning chaotic data and ideas into clear, logical presentations and roadmaps for the CEO
- Persuasive communicator: ability to sell ideas at the level of C-suite and department heads – not just write reports, but inspire change
- Results-oriented: focused on measurable financial outcomes, not just beautiful slides
