What you will do

• Design and implement product features aligned with technical strategy and quality standards.
• Develop clean, maintainable code and corresponding automated tests.
• Participate in release planning and provide reliable estimations.
• Engage in code reviews and collaborative engineering practices.
• Perform security reviews to ensure compliance with industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues methodically.

Requirements

• Practical experience building backend services or APIs in a modern programming language.
• Understanding of API design, request/response lifecycles, and integration patterns.
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as Mocha or Jest.
• Awareness of secure coding practices and cloud-native development.
• Legal authorization to work in the UK without requiring employer sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript for API or service layer development.
• Familiarity with microservices and distributed system concepts.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, relational schema design, and query optimization.
