Senior Lighting Designer (Automotive)

Senior Lighting Designer (Automotive): Designing and prototyping advanced interior and exterior lighting concepts for vehicles with an accent on brand identity, safety, and emotion. Location: Gothenburg, Sweden (Office-first environment with some WFH flexibility). Travel to China may be required.

What you will do

• Create and deliver lighting concepts for vehicle interiors and exteriors, including ambient, functional, and communication lighting.
• Develop lighting solutions that align with vehicle design character and technical constraints.
• Utilize lighting toolchains (visualization, simulation, VR) to validate light effects and integration feasibility.
• Lead engaging presentations to effectively convey design intent to stakeholders and suppliers.
• Validate concepts by building prototypes both internally and externally with suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial, Product, Transportation, or Lighting Design.
• 5+ years of professional experience in automotive lighting design or closely related fields.
• Proficiency with lighting design and visualization tools.
• Experience translating light concepts into feasible, manufacturable solutions.
• Fluent English proficiency (written and verbal).
• Hands-on prototyping mindset with electrical and electronic basics.
