Cyber Security Officer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid in Sheffield or London (2 office days per week)

Salary: £55,000–£75,000 per annum

What you will do

• Monitor, identify, and resolve security incidents, ensuring all activity is documented in ticketing systems.
• Conduct internal technical and compliance audits to ensure adherence to ISO27001 and company security policies.
• Identify and validate vulnerabilities across networks, operating systems, applications, and databases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to advocate for and implement security best practices.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide technical guidance on security configurations across the department.
• Review changes brought to the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to prevent the introduction of security weaknesses.

Requirements

• Proven experience securing cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Prior experience as a Cyber Security Officer or in a similar role within a large organization.
• Working knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and networking principles/concepts.
• Proficiency in hardening configurations for Windows Server, Linux, and Solaris.
• Strong understanding of cyber threats and adversary techniques used to compromise systems.
• Must be based in the UK and able to work from the Sheffield or London office 2 days per week.

Nice to have

• CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP, or AWS/Cloud certifications.
• Experience with Rapid7 InsightVM and InsightIDR.
• Experience securing enterprise databases.
• Knowledge of UK financial sector regulations and bank IT operations.
