TL;DR

Performance Engineering Lead (SaaS): Building and owning the performance engineering capability from the ground up with an accent on CI/CD integration, performance contract enforcement, and AI-driven test automation. Focus on establishing baselines for high-traffic product lines, designing scalable load testing frameworks, and ensuring performance standards for AI-generated code.

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Hybrid/Remote opportunities available)

What you will do

  • Design and maintain a performance testing framework using k6 and Locust.
  • Integrate automated performance gates into CI/CD pipelines to prevent regressions.
  • Define and enforce performance SLAs including latency, throughput, and error rate limits.
  • Leverage AI tools to automate test case generation, execution, and degradation analysis.
  • Collaborate with product squads to ensure AI-generated code meets performance standards.
  • Communicate performance posture and regression trends to engineering leadership.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years focused on performance/load testing or SRE for SaaS.
  • Strong proficiency with k6 or Locust for REST API and web application load testing.
  • Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools for test development and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript for automation.

Nice to have

  • Experience evaluating AI-generated code in engineering pipelines.
  • Familiarity with chaos engineering principles and tooling.
  • Background in SRE or platform engineering at a SaaS company.
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL database performance tuning.
