GIS DevOps Engineer

Location: Onsite in a SCIF approximately 90% of the time or as needed in Herndon, VA or St. Louis, MO. U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government TS/SCI with CI poly security clearance are required.

Salary: $145,000–$215,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift clusters across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized application delivery.
• Implement infrastructure as code and develop platform automation, tooling, and self-service capabilities.
• Monitor platform performance, availability, and security; respond to incidents and optimize systems.
• Collaborate with development, security, operations, and SAFe Agile teams to improve platform reliability and usability.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security and governance standards while supporting mission-critical customer operations.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI with CI poly clearance are required; willingness to obtain a CI poly may be considered.
• At least 14 years of professional experience in a technical support role.
• Professional experience with DevSecOps, Kubernetes in production, Red Hat OpenShift, and container technologies such as Docker or CRI-O.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI, plus open-source and custom application deployment and maintenance.
• Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed operations and development teams and communicate clearly in written and oral formats.
• Willingness to provide onsite SCIF support, including occasional on-call or after-hours work, in Herndon, VA or St. Louis, MO. A technical degree or equivalent demonstrated experience is required.

Nice to have

• Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP; hybrid or multi-cloud architectures; networking; security; and Linux administration.
• Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS, and familiarity with OPA or Kyverno.
• Background in SRE practices, geospatial technologies, military or intelligence environments, or IC PED systems.
• CompTIA Security+ or a comparable certification.
