What you will do

• Develop and maintain research analytic data infrastructure, covering ingestion, storage, governance, and cleansing.
• Build scalable batch and streaming data pipelines to manage high-volume data storage and retrieval.
• Curate accurate datasets for IRB-approved research studies in collaboration with Principal Investigators and statisticians.
• Implement automated testing and frameworks to ensure data quality and reliability for critical decision-making.
• Design and test new architectures for data extraction and modeling for predictive or prescriptive analytics.
• Ensure all data processes adhere to HIPAA regulations and methods for safeguarding PHI and PII.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or Healthcare Administration.
• 8+ years of recent relevant experience in data engineering.
• Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, ANSI SQL), Python, and scripting.
• Hands-on experience with big data tools including Spark, Databricks, and Cloudera.
• Strong experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and data lake architectures.
• Must be based in California to meet hybrid onsite requirements.
