What you will do

• Serve as the domain expert for Detection & Response, integrating telemetry across product, cloud, and corporate infrastructure.
• Design and implement precise, actionable alerting within Google Security Operations (SIEM/SOAR) using detection-as-code principles.
• Act as the primary technical lead for security incidents during EMEA hours, driving investigations and containment.
• Develop specialized detection logic to mitigate application-layer abuses and sophisticated social engineering threats.
• Maintain the operational health of the core security stack, including EDR and cloud-native security tools.
• Build automated security workflows using Python and AI/LLMs to reduce time-to-context for security alerts.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from London, UK.
• Strong foundation in product, cloud, and corporate security, including IAM and threat modeling.
• Deep experience with the detection-as-code lifecycle and building infrastructure for high-scale SaaS environments.
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Logging, BigQuery, Pub/Sub) for security data pipelines.
• Advanced Python skills for automation and API integration.
• Ability to manage high-volume daily security tasks and cross-functional incident response.

Nice to have

• Experience with threat intelligence integration, including dark web monitoring and brand protection.
• Background in security outreach, mentorship, or leading Security Champions initiatives.
• Familiarity with deception techniques like honeytokens or canary credentials.
• Prior experience defending high-volume data environments and managing bug bounty programs.
