TL;DR
System Architect - Sensors (AI): Defining and integrating sensor systems for end-to-end autonomy stacks with an accent on system-level sensing requirements, hardware-software boundary optimization, and production vehicle integration. Focus on translating driving use cases into quantitative KPIs, ensuring sensor performance across ODDs, and leading architectural decisions for OEM programs.
Location: Must be based in or able to work from Sunnyvale, CA or Tel Aviv (Hybrid policy applies).

What you will do
- Define sensor system requirements based on driving use cases, safety goals, and product constraints.
- Develop end-to-end sensing concepts including modality, placement, coverage, and redundancy.
- Co-develop sensor system concepts with hardware and core algorithm teams, focusing on imaging pipelines and system integration.
- Define sensor layout and integration strategies for production vehicle platforms.
- Validate sensor system performance using fleet data, simulation, and program-specific testing.
- Act as the technical owner of sensor system architecture in OEM programs, balancing performance, cost, and scalability.
Requirements
- Strong experience defining sensor systems at the system level, including integration into production vehicle architectures.
- Proven track record of translating driving use cases into validated system performance.
- Solid understanding of camera systems (ISP pipelines, calibration, HDR) and radar/LiDAR fundamentals.
- Experience collaborating across hardware and software domains to co-develop technical concepts.
- Ability to reason across autonomy performance, safety standards (ISO 26262 / SOTIF), and production constraints.
- Strong communication skills to influence cross-functional teams and OEM/Tier1 stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience leading sensor system architecture in production ADAS/AV programs.
- Familiarity with ML-based perception systems and their implications on sensing.
- Experience with fleet data analysis, simulation, and replay-based validation workflows.
- Background in OEM or Tier1 co-development environments.
