TL;DR

Senior Analytics Engineer (DataOps): Establishing and evolving operational practices for the data and analytics ecosystem with an accent on reliability, scalability, and observability. Focus on building automation, standardizing DataOps processes, and reducing technical debt across distributed data pipelines and products.

Location: Must be based in Sofia, Bulgaria (Hybrid: 50% onsite requirement).

What you will do

  • Develop and evolve operational practices to improve the reliability and maintainability of data products.
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities to proactively identify system failures.
  • Design and implement automation to reduce manual operational overhead and improve resilience.
  • Establish operational lifecycle management processes for data assets and pipelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed scalable operational standards into the data product lifecycle.
  • Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or able to work from Sofia, Bulgaria.
  • Proven experience in DataOps, operational engineering, or production support for data platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with the end-to-end data lifecycle and cloud-based environments.
  • Extensive experience in data engineering with strong SQL and Python skills.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, modeling, and observability concepts.

Nice to have

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of modern data platforms like Redshift, BigQuery, or MongoDB.
  • Exposure to streaming or real-time data architectures.
  • Understanding of AI, machine learning, or feature store concepts.
  • Experience with BI platforms such as Looker or Amplitude.
