What you will do
- Shape the technical direction of the Global Sports Library and core data services.
- Design and evolve APIs, distributed systems, and large-scale data pipelines.
- Lead technical initiatives, break down complex problems, and advocate for best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to deliver product enhancements.
- Mentor fellow engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to a strong team culture.
Requirements
- Must live within a commuting distance of the London office.
- Extensive experience in backend engineering with cloud-based systems.
- Strong proficiency in TDD and CI/CD practices.
- Experience translating requirements into architectural proposals.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on team-first delivery.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide other engineers.
Nice to have
- Professional background in C#, GraphQL, Elastic, MongoDB, and AWS.
- Experience with video encoding and on-demand rendering.
- Interest in sports analytics.
