What you will do

• Integrate external LLM APIs and deploy open-source models in scalable environments.
• Develop and extend agentic workflows and tool-calling capabilities.
• Implement prompt engineering strategies to improve system reliability and behavior.
• Design and execute evaluations against ground-truth datasets to measure AI performance.
• Optimize AI systems for latency, response quality, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate across the stack to integrate AI services into web-based GIS applications.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building production software in Python.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs into real-world applications.
• Practical knowledge of agentic patterns, ReAct loops, and function calling.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals including API design, testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as LangGraph, BAML, or MLflow.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments like AWS and containerization with Docker.

Nice to have

• Experience with geospatial data or mapping libraries like PostGIS.
• Knowledge of gRPC, protobuf, and Postgres.
• Experience deploying open-source models like Llama or Mistral using vLLM or SageMaker.
