Staff Software Engineer (Container Platform)

Salary: $236,000 – $339,200

What you will do

• Own the design and delivery of complex platform initiatives spanning cluster lifecycle management, multi-cloud automation, and internal developer tooling.
• Drive cross-team technical improvements from architectural design through to wide-scale adoption.
• Make and defend architectural trade-offs grounded in reliability, scalability, and operational reality.
• Act as a technical anchor for the team, raising engineering standards and mentoring other engineers.
• Measure success by the velocity and reliability of the experience for thousands of internal engineers.

Requirements

• Significant experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Expertise in Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems at scale, including cluster lifecycle and fleet management.
• Proficiency in Go or a comparable systems language.
• Experience operating across multiple cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Must be based in or able to work from Menlo Park, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with GPU infrastructure or AI/ML training workloads at scale.
• Open source contributions to Kubernetes or related ecosystem projects.
