TL;DR

Senior Backend Developer (.NET): Building and operating backend services for the multiplayer survival shooter Oxide: Survival Island with an accent on scalable APIs, real-time systems, and data pipelines. Focus on game-server orchestration, monetization integration, and high-load OLAP analytics.

Location: On-site in Limassol, Cyprus. Relocation support provided.

What you will do

  • Develop and operate C#/.NET backend services, including APIs, player profiles, economy, and server orchestration.
  • Design and manage analytics pipelines using OLAP stores for ROAS, LTV, and retention metrics.
  • Integrate mobile store payments, attribution providers, and receipt validation.
  • Implement real-time pub-sub layers for chat and notifications using key-value stores.
  • Manage dedicated game server fleets and build internal LiveOps administration tools.
  • Collaborate with Unity engineers to enforce server-side anti-cheat and maintain the server as the source of truth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend experience with at least one shipped, monetized product.
  • Strong proficiency in C# / .NET 8, including async/await and performance optimization.
  • Experience with OLAP databases such as ClickHouse, BigQuery, Druid, or similar.
  • Production experience with document stores (MongoDB, DynamoDB) and KV stores (Redis).
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, idempotency, and eventual consistency.
  • English: B1+ level and Russian: C1 level.

Nice to have

  • Experience shipping a live-service mobile game through a season or event cycle.
  • Knowledge of game-server orchestration tools like Agones, GameLift, Nakama, or custom K8s fleets.
  • Integration experience with mobile attribution tools (AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular, Branch).
  • Experience with modern web frameworks (Blazor, React, Vue, Svelte) for internal admin UIs.
