Senior Backend Developer (C++)

TL;DR

Senior Backend Developer (C++): Building core SDK, framework modules, and high-load game services for the MMO 4X strategy game Total Battle with an accent on asynchronous systems and distributed architectures. Focus on designing scalable S2S communication protocols, optimizing data persistence layers, and improving developer experience (DevEx).

Location: On-site in Limassol, Cyprus. Relocation package provided.

Compensation: €5,500 – €7,500 net per month

What you will do

• Design and develop core SDK/framework modules with clean abstractions to enable fast game logic development.
• Gather requirements and design APIs, protocols, and service-to-service (S2S) interaction contracts.
• Build high-performance asynchronous and multithreaded code.
• Design and evolve ORM and data persistence layers using PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Ensure scalability, stability, and fault tolerance of backend services.
• Improve developer tools and DevEx using CMake, Conan, Python tooling, and CI/CD.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend development experience on Linux.
• 3+ years of commercial experience with C++17/20.
• Strong knowledge of asynchrony, multithreading, and network communications (gRPC, WebSocket, TCP).
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (DDL/DML, transactions, migrations).
• Solid understanding of Software Design (SOLID, GoF patterns) and System Design.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and build systems (CMake).

Nice to have

• Familiarity with testing and performance tools such as GTest, Valgrind, Perf, and Sanitizers.
