SAFE Unit Internship (Conflict, Climate & Migration)

TL;DR

SAFE Unit Intern (Conflict, Climate & Migration): Supporting the SAFE Unit in mapping policy positions on conflict, peacebuilding, and human mobility with an accent on research, policy briefs, and migration trends. Focus on conducting background research, drafting policy documents, and contributing to the triple humanitarian-development-peace nexus.

Location: Hybrid (The Hague, Netherlands). Candidates must be enrolled in a Dutch educational institution and have the legal right to live and work in the Netherlands.

Salary: €450 monthly allowance (based on 36 hours/week).

What you will do

• Conduct background research and support the drafting of policy documents and briefs.
• Provide regular updates on migration trends in and around Europe using existing data sources.
• Create content for a dedicated landing page on conflict, climate, and fragility.
• Support the organization of Community of Practice meetings.
• Perform administrative tasks, including note-taking, event organization, and translation.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree at a Dutch educational institution.
• Studies in conflict studies, international relations, political science, sociology, law, or a related field.
• Legal right to live and work in the Netherlands.
• Excellent research, writing, editing, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English required; fluency in French and/or Arabic is an advantage.
• Less than 3 years of relevant full-time work experience.
