What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate production-grade integration services using the Ballerina programming language.
• Model complex enterprise data flows and build resilient, concurrent services for ERP systems like SAP and Oracle.
• Operate services within containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Define and enforce engineering standards, including testing strategies, error handling, and observability.
• Collaborate with platform and AI engineers to translate enterprise requirements into maintainable code.
• Mentor team members and contribute to architectural decisions regarding platform evolution.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Minimum 1 year of production experience writing and operating Ballerina services.
• Deep working knowledge of Ballerina language primitives, async patterns, and module systems.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and network protocols like HTTP and gRPC.
• Expertise in database design and efficient SQL query writing.

Nice to have

• Contributions to the Ballerina open-source ecosystem.
• Experience with ERP integration patterns (SAP S/4HANA, RFC, BAPI, IDoc, OData).
• Background in financial services or enterprise back-office automation.
• Familiarity with functional programming languages like F#, Haskell, or Scala.
• Experience with observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
