What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of data security controls across Azure and Databricks, including classification and encryption.
• Operationalize Microsoft Purview for data discovery, sensitivity labeling, lineage, and access insights.
• Define and enforce least-privilege access models using Azure RBAC, Entra ID, and managed identities.
• Perform security reviews of Azure data architectures and remediate risks in Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and maintain data security monitoring and alerting workflows integrating Azure Monitor and Defender for Cloud.
• Mentor security engineers and lead end-to-end delivery of large-scope data security initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering with a strong emphasis on cloud data security.
• Deep hands-on experience with Azure PaaS and data services (ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Synapse).
• Practical experience with Microsoft Purview and securing Databricks environments.
• Strong proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with identity and access management (Entra ID) and encryption.
• Must be based in the US

Nice to have

• Experience with DLP, tokenization, masking, or privacy-enhancing technologies.
• Familiarity with integrating data security tooling with SIEM/SOC workflows.
• Relevant certifications such as Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer, or SC-400.
