What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of software engineers to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Co-create the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap alongside technical leads and product designers.
  • Contribute as an individual contributor in the first few months by writing code and analyzing the architecture.
  • Drive the scalability and reliability of squad offerings as the company grows.
  • Lead recruiting efforts to build a world-class, sustainable, and diverse engineering team.
  • Oversee technical decision-making and architecture across a portfolio of squads.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software engineering management experience building productive teams.
  • Experience building distributed web-based cloud-native applications and services.
  • Technical proficiency with AWS (multi-region, multi-tenant), Kubernetes (EKS), and Kafka.
  • Experience with programming languages: PHP, Golang, Terraform, or Python.
  • Knowledge of system architecture patterns such as SOA, microservices, and EDA.
  • Must be based in Sydney to support a hybrid work model.
