What you will do

• Partner with leadership to define standards for system design, code quality, performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with product and stakeholders to shape requirements and deliver high-impact features.
• Lead design and delivery of complex systems from concept to production.
• Own and improve reliability, scalability, and performance of existing systems.
• Mentor engineers via guidance, code reviews, and best practices.
• Influence architecture across services and enhance observability with metrics, logging, and alerting.
• Explore AI and automation for workflows like document summarization and task routing.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of Java or similar object-oriented development.
• Relational database design and query with SQL and ORM.
• Experience with AWS or public cloud.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems in production.
• Comfort using or learning AI tools like ChatGPT or CoPilot.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment with high-quality virtual interactions.
• Ability to travel periodically for work.
