Rate: $15 - $20 per hour

What you will do

• Design and build backend and platform features including APIs, services, integrations, and data flows
• Own scoped projects end-to-end from requirements clarification to implementation, testing, rollout, and follow-through
• Write automated unit and integration tests
• Debug production issues using logs, metrics, and traces, driving resolutions and adding safeguards
• Improve reliability through refactors, performance optimizations, and better observability
• Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and risks to engineering and cross-functional partners
• Contribute to team standards via code reviews, documentation, and best practices

Requirements

• Communicate clearly and fluently in English both in writing and verbally
• Provide your own laptop with reliable internet and work primarily in Americas time zones
• 2 to 4 years of experience as a software engineer shipping production systems
• Built and maintained backend services and APIs in production
• Experience with integrations: third-party APIs, webhooks, auth patterns (OAuth/API keys), data modeling
• Write automated tests routinely and apply strong engineering fundamentals
• Comfortable taking ownership of scoped problems with minimal guidance and solid debugging skills
