What you will do

• Design welded structures to yield, ultimate strength, and fatigue loading criteria.
• Size and specify welds for component and structure performance.
• Compile engineering design documentation and specifications for fabrication.
• Engage with fabrication teams, providing handover, supervision, and support.
• Design structural connections like bolted joints, riveted, and flanged connections.

Requirements

• Experience in design and engineering of steel weldments and fabricated structures.
• Knowledge of structural mechanics and analysis methods (analytical, hand calculations, FE).
• Fatigue analysis using established methods (e.g., FKM), analytical and FE.
• Knowledge of welding and structural steel standards (AS/NZS, AWS, ASTM, EN).
• Skilled in CAD and FEA tools (e.g., SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, Ansys).
• Experience writing manufacturing specifications and drafting drawings.
