Electrical Engineer (I&C)

TL;DR

Electrical Engineer (I&C): Developing high-quality detailed design packages for instrumentation and controls in nuclear and environmental facilities with an accent on process control systems, PLCs/HMIs, and field troubleshooting. Focus on preparing calculations, analyses, drawings, specifications, and providing procurement and implementation support.

Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee, United States. US citizenship required. DOE Q-Clearance highly desired (must apply after starting if uncleared).

What you will do

• Develop conceptual and title II design deliverables including cost estimates, bills of material, statements of work, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
• Prepare conduit/cable schedules, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, and control cabinet assembly drawings.
• Design control logic for batch and continuous processes using analog instrumentation, distributed control systems, and PLCs/HMIs.
• Develop process control narratives, contribute to P&IDs and process software requirements.
• Perform plant walkdowns, provide field technical support, troubleshooting, and expertise for system assessments.
• Work cooperatively in integrated project teams applying electrical engineering principles, codes, and standards.

Requirements

• US citizenship required due to government contract.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with minimum 10 years experience, including >3 years in instrumentation and controls design.
• Experience with National Electrical Code, UL508A, and relevant ISA standards.
• Ability to perform walkdowns and field support in plant facilities.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering License (PE).
• DOE Q-Clearance.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation software (RSLogix, FactoryTalk View).
