Junior Information Assurance (IA) Specialist

TL;DR

Junior Information Assurance (IA) Specialist (Cybersecurity): Supports cybersecurity operations and compliance for JPRA enterprise networks and systems with an accent on vulnerability management, security monitoring, system hardening, and RMF documentation. Focus on assisting with incident identification, patch management, log review, and maintaining DoD cybersecurity policies.

Location: Fort Belvoir, Virginia (onsite, core hours 0730–1630 Monday–Friday). Active Secret clearance or above required.

What you will do

• Protect JPRA networks, systems, and applications per DoD and NIST guidance.
• Assist with vulnerability scanning, remediation, STIG, and IAVM compliance.
• Monitor security alerts, identify and escalate incidents.
• Support patch management, security configurations, and log review.
• Handle RMF activities, documentation, ATO compliance.
• Manage user accounts, identity, authentication, and PKI.
• Maintain cybersecurity documentation, SOPs, and awareness activities.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance or above.
• 5 years experience in Information Assurance, cybersecurity, or IT security.
• Familiarity with RMF, vulnerability management, STIG compliance.
• Experience with security monitoring or vulnerability scanning tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
