TL;DR

Data Engineer II (Healthcare): Design and implement scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and export to support analytics and business needs with an accent on reliability, data quality, and cloud infrastructure. Focus on building high-performance batch processing systems, optimizing databases, and collaborating on data models for enterprise-scale solutions.

Hybrid - at least 3 days/week in our Dallas, TX office

What you will do

• Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines for high-performance ingestion, transformation, and quality features.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering Manager and Product to build data models improving reliability and interpretability.
• Develop and maintain data export solutions for efficient transfer to external systems.
• Contribute to design documents, technology assessments, Proof of Concepts, and production support.
• Write unit, integration, and functional tests; participate in PR reviews, roadmap, and best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years as Data Engineer building and supporting production data pipelines
• 1+ years with cloud infrastructure on Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP
• Hands-on with Spark, Python, SQL for pipelines, including maintainable code and query optimization.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (preferred) or relational databases, performance tuning.
• Big data technologies like Spark (preferred), Databricks; Infrastructure as Code like Terraform.
• Scalable, reliable pipelines with data quality, testing, operational support; data lake/lakehouse solutions.
• Strong communication for technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Healthcare standards: HL7, X12 EDI, FHIR.
• Creating RESTful APIs.
• Building dashboards/visualizations with Power BI or similar.
