What you will do
- Lead power measurement and debug using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and bench supplies, working from product schematics.
- Build and execute structured test matrices for operating modes, workloads, and power states.
- Diagnose power anomalies by correlating electrical data with system behavior, thermal response, and software logs.
- Investigate software and firmware contributors to power issues across MCU firmware, Linux kernel, and Android layers.
- Interpret system power models, validate measurements, and communicate findings to EE, HW, FW, and system teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on platform bring-up, characterization, and design improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years in embedded systems with strong EE lab work and firmware/system software experience.
- Expertise in schematics, power-rail analysis, and instrument-based measurements correlated to system behavior.
- Embedded firmware development experience (MCU, SoC, bootloader, low-level drivers).
- Working knowledge of Linux/Android for investigating power/performance issues via logs and traces.
- Ability to define test plans, build matrices, and drive proactive investigations analytically.
Nice to have
- Experience with Qualcomm platforms or similar SoCs.
- Familiarity with system-level power measurement frameworks and power models/budgets.
- Android power/thermal framework knowledge.
- Factory, EVT/DVT, or lab-based power characterization.
- Embedded RTOS or bare-metal development.
