TL;DR

Infrastructure Engineer (Cloud): Designing, building, and operating cloud security frameworks and tooling that protect workloads across public and private cloud platforms with an accent on automated, codified security controls. Focus on leading engineering delivery of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Policy as Code, and Kubernetes security for production services.

Location: Hybrid in Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds, or Manchester (at least two days per week or 40% of time in office)

Salary: £48,987 - £59,873

What you will do

• Implement and deploy software-defined infrastructure and cloud security tooling.
• Contribute to designs for infrastructure and cloud security solutions.
• Take ownership of complex problems and deliveries.
• Build automated security controls using CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and Policy as Code.
• Work in small engineering teams to deliver security-focused products and own production services across public clouds.
• Develop cloud security policies, identify practice gaps, and drive continuous improvements.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with GCP and/or Azure (AWS desirable).
• Kubernetes administration and security for containerised workloads.
• CI/CD tooling (Terraform, Git, Jenkins, Harness, Backstage).
• Automation and scripting using Python.
• Experience operating and supporting production cloud services.

Nice to have

• Experience across multiple cloud providers.
• Prior experience in regulated or large enterprise environments.
• Experience influencing or contributing to security policy.
• Understanding of cloud security standards (CIS, NIST, PCI-DSS).
