What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve the Android platform as part of the Mobile Platform team.
• Lead the migration of the mobile app from React Native to native Android using Kotlin.
• Collaborate with native and React Native engineers to establish native development best practices.
• Optimize app performance and reliability by addressing technical debt and resolving bottlenecks.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver native-first features.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and shipping production Android apps in Kotlin.
• Deep understanding of Android frameworks, platform APIs, and native development best practices.
• Experience with high-engagement mobile applications focusing on performance and reliability.
• Strong commitment to engineering standards, thoughtful design, and maintainable code.
• Must be based in or able to work from the London office 2-3 days a week.

Nice to have

• Experience with mobile security best practices in production.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile build, test, and release automation.
• Collaboration experience with iOS (Swift) or React Native engineers.
