Senior/ Lead Android Engineer (Medtech)

Location: London, hybrid model with 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Develop Android features using modern frameworks, libraries, and in-house components.
• Contribute to a shared production codebase designed for long-term maintainability.
• Deliver polished, intuitive, performant, accessible, and privacy-focused user experiences.
• Maintain and improve the continuous delivery pipeline for fast, reliable, and safe production releases.
• Collaborate across the full mobile product lifecycle, from feature ideation through release and iteration.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on Android development experience shipping and maintaining production applications at scale.
• Experience building large, complex mobile applications with polished and performant user interfaces.
• Strong Java proficiency with solid object-oriented design principles and a focus on clean, maintainable code.
• Deep knowledge of the Android ecosystem, including platform fragmentation, UI design patterns, and device compatibility.
• Familiarity with Google technologies, Play Store submission processes, and Google development guidelines.
• Practical understanding of the full mobile product lifecycle and Agile teamwork.

Nice to have

• Kotlin, Clean Architecture, and reactive programming experience.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD, build, test, and release automation.
• Experience with analytics, BI systems, A/B testing frameworks, and alternative Android markets.
• Experience optimising mobile data usage and building offline-first applications.
• Interest in UX and interaction design.
