What you will do
- Adhere to studio art standards and create environments from scratch with minimal supervision, including interiors and exteriors.
- Set-dress scenes with props across various styles and eras, focusing on visual storytelling.
- Optimize environments for performance and ensure support for gameplay through visual signposting and navigation.
- Work with source control like Perforce and advise on workflow improvements.
- Mentor junior artists through 1:1s and act as interim project lead when needed.
Requirements
- Demonstrable portfolio of high-quality environment and level artwork across projects.
- Ability to create large-scale landscapes from scratch in Unreal Engine and Unity.
- Good understanding of terrain and foliage tools in Unreal Engine 5.
- Experience with terrain generation tools like Gaea or World Creator.
- Solid grasp of cinematography fundamentals: composition, framing, colour, and light.
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools and workflows.
Nice to have
- Experience with and understanding of PCG.
