What you will do

• Design, build, and operate scalable, production-grade backend systems at the core of the platform.
• Own mission-critical services from ideation through to deployment and maintenance.
• Develop new AI agent capabilities, workflows, and system behaviors to push the boundaries of applied AI.
• Shape engineering standards, architecture, and processes as the company scales.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers to raise the bar for technical quality.
• Collaborate with product, design, and leadership to align technical direction with business outcomes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in full-stack or backend roles.
• Experience designing and operating REST or GraphQL APIs and distributed systems.
• Proven ability to build large-scale, fault-tolerant systems for real-world users.
• Experience thriving in dynamic, high-performance startup environments with high ambiguity.
• Deep interest in artificial intelligence and a habit of leveraging AI tools in your daily workflow.
• Must be based in Sydney, AU to comply with the hybrid office requirement (3 days/week).

Nice to have

• Experience building AI features using LLMs, agent workflows, or AI infrastructure.
• Experience with enterprise-grade features like IAM, SSO, audit logs, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience building integration ecosystems or native third-party connectors.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
