Lead Laboratory Technician

TL;DR

Lead Laboratory Technician: Perform quality control testing of raw materials and monomer mixtures using wet chemistry and instrumental analysis with an accent on HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, XRF, and DSC. Location: Onsite in Parlin, NJ 08859. Must be available for weekends, holidays, and overtime.

What you will do

• Analyze samples using HPLC, GC, FTIR, DSC, UV-Vis, TMA, TGA, XRF, goniometer, and other instruments with safe lab practices.
• Record and transmit results accurately, write reports for special projects, and develop new test methods with scientists.
• Perform instrument calibrations, maintain records, logbooks, audits, and compliance documentation for ISO.
• Prioritize work, operate multiple instruments concurrently, manage projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Purchase materials, order supplies, and operate laser scanner equipment.
• Communicate results via reports, Outlook, Teams, phone, and voicemail.

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemistry or equivalent.
• History of safe laboratory practices and proven wet chemistry skills.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, XRF, DSC; strong instrumental software skills.
• Strong computer skills: spreadsheets, data analysis, Microsoft software; MatLab preferred.
• Excellent verbal/written communication for summarizing data and reports.
• Organized, able to prioritize, exhibit leadership; troubleshooting equipment preferred.
• Available for weekends, holidays, overtime.

Nice to have

• Experience writing lab test methods and SOPs.
• Experience using Copilot or similar AI chatbots.
