Scientist II, Research Associate (Semiconductor)

Location: Aurora, Illinois, United States; onsite

Salary: $67,000–$90,000 per year, with actual pay dependent on overall skills.

What you will do

• Synthesize and isolate polymers and small organic molecules under the guidance of a senior scientist.
• Characterize synthesized materials using NMR, FTIR, GPC, LC, GC, and MS, and interpret the resulting data.
• Plan, execute, document, and deliver technical presentations on defined research activities.
• Collaborate with chemists, engineers, customer representatives, quality specialists, and production engineers across multiple sites.
• Follow and help improve laboratory safety practices.

Requirements

• BA/BS or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Hands-on organic synthesis experience outside the classroom.
• Ability to plan, execute, and document research activities on schedule.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to laboratory safety and participation in safety initiatives.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Knowledge of DOE analysis, statistical tools, Minitab, or JMP.
