TL;DR

Staff Software Engineer (Magic Containers): Build and evolve the core of edge-native container platform for global deployment and scaling with an accent on developer experience, simple operations, and reliability. Focus on designing distributed orchestration systems, improving global observability, and resolving complex production issues at scale.

Location: Fully remote from Europe (ideally CET or close time zone) with flexible schedule.

What you will do

  • Build and evolve core container platform, shaping developer workflows at the edge.
  • Lead cross-team efforts on scaling orchestration, observability, and technology migrations.
  • Mentor engineers, set standards for code quality, and improve team knowledge.
  • Align technical decisions with business goals through specs and architecture guidance.
  • Debug complex production issues and own end-to-end outcomes for customer problems.
  • Proactively drive platform, process, and developer experience improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years with C# or strong willingness to switch
  • Deep knowledge of containers (cgroups, namespaces, runtimes) and distributed systems at global scale.
  • Strong Linux, networking fundamentals, and debugging skills.
  • Experience with time-series databases like ClickHouse or InfluxDB.
  • Observability practices, cross-team leadership, and mentoring.
  • Clear communication and customer-first mindset.

Nice to have

  • Anycast knowledge and container security (gVisor, Kata).
  • Message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka), Redis, etcd.
  • Edge compute/CDN experience or hirify.global products.
  • Open source contributions or public knowledge sharing.
