TL;DR

Software Development Engineer Co-op (Gamedev): Helping build live mobile games like Single City, Kingdoms of Heckfire, and Party in my Dorm, as well as tools and infrastructure for massively multiplayer online experiences with an accent on fullstack implementations from Unity/iOS/Android clients to Django/MySQL servers. Focus on constructing scalable systems, automating processes, and optimizing for high engagement and reliability.

Location: Remote for candidates legally eligible to work in and located in Canada during core hours 11am-4pm PST.

Compensation: $6,667 / month

What you will do

• Implement fullstack features from frontend client code (Unity or native iOS/Android) to backend server support (Django + MySQL).
• Participate in all product development aspects: design, implementation, playtests, and metrics analysis.
• Build scalable deployment systems for distributed backend used company-wide.
• Create automation tools for community, design, art, and other teams, such as player management or data pipelines.
• Optimize game systems like particle effects, leaderboards, and subscription purchases interfacing with app stores.

Requirements

• Enrolled in an accredited degree program in fall 2026.
• Tech generalist and fullstack engineer comfortable with client and server implementations.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Clear communication of ideas in code and writing.
• Interest in and experience playing mobile games.
