TL;DR

Lighting Artist (VFX): Training and developing lighting skills for live-action VFX and feature animation projects with an accent on HDRI processing and light rig creation. Focus on matching CG elements into live action plates and optimizing renders using Katana and Nuke.

Location: Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident based in Vancouver (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Perform HDRI stitching, processing, and light map extraction.
• Create and publish light rigs for production.
• Match CG elements into live-action plates using references.
• Execute basic render optimization and management.
• Use Katana and Nuke to light, slapcomp, and present shots for creative feedback.
• Collaborate with other departments and strengthen professional habits through dailies.

Requirements

• Must be a Canadian Citizen or hold Canadian Permanent Resident status.
• Graduated from a relevant course within the last 12 months or have up to two years of VFX experience.
• Demo reel showcasing pre-rendered work (e.g., Arnold, RenderMan, V-Ray); Realtime/Unreal Engine only reels will not be considered.
• No relocation assistance, housing, or work authorization provided.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) in a hybrid onsite model.
