What you will do

• Create and implement high-quality VFX for characters, environments, and gameplay.
• Collaborate with art team, designers, and programmers to solve VFX challenges and maintain consistency.
• Optimise VFX assets for performance and memory while keeping visual fidelity.
• Use industry-standard tools to produce effects matching the game's art style.
• Participate in meetings, critiques, and brainstorming to share ideas.
• Stay current with VFX trends to improve skills and team capabilities.

Requirements

• Experience as VFX artist in games with portfolio (ideally real-world effects: rain, fog, smoke, dust, fire).
• Proficient in VFX tools like Maya, Houdini.
• Strong VFX principles: timing, motion, aesthetics.
• Experience with real-time engines like Unreal Engine for VFX integration.
• Collaborative team player with problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Procedural VFX techniques.
• Shader authoring (HLSL or Unreal nodes).
• Particle systems for gameplay.
