DevOps Engineer (Deployment)

TL;DR

DevOps Engineer (Deployment) (Octopus Deploy/Ansible/GitHub): Own and improve application deployment processes across environments with an accent on automation, repeatability, security, and reliability. Location: All candidates must be located in Portugal. Hybrid working style with office in Coimbra and plans to open offices in Aveiro and Porto.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end release and deployment lifecycle: build, package, deploy, verify, rollback
• Develop and support Octopus Deploy projects, lifecycles, channels, variables, and processes
• Implement deployment automation with Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, and idempotent changes
• Maintain Git-based release workflows in GitHub including branching, tagging, versioning, and release notes
• Build and maintain CI pipelines in GitHub Actions to produce artifacts and trigger releases
• Standardize deployment patterns, manage environment configurations and secrets, improve safety with approvals, health checks, and rollback strategies
• Support production releases, troubleshoot failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and collaborate with developers, QA, and operations

Requirements

• All candidates must be located in Portugal
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience as DevOps/Release/Deployment Engineer supporting production deployments
• Strong hands-on experience with Octopus Deploy (process design, variables, multi-environment releases)
• Strong Ansible skills for deployment and configuration (roles, vault/secrets, troubleshooting)
• Strong GitHub knowledge (PR workflows, tagging/releases, permissions)
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts (artifact management, versioning, promotion)
• Administration and troubleshooting on Windows and/or Linux hosts
• Ability to diagnose issues across app, OS, network, and configuration layers

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform, PowerShell/Bash scripting
• Monitoring/observability (Prometheus/Grafana)
• IIS/.NET, Nginx, Docker/Kubernetes deployments
• VOIP components (SIP, FreeSwitch), load balancing (F5), AWS/Azure, VMWare/HyperV
