TL;DR

What you will do

  • Independently manage official Congressional travel programs, including CODELs and STAFFDELs.
  • Coordinate complex foreign travel logistics ensuring compliance with federal, Congressional, and Department of State regulations.
  • Act as a primary liaison between the Department of State, Members of Congress, and overseas embassies or consulates.
  • Oversee financial management, funding designation, and reimbursement for travel activities.
  • Provide expert guidance to Congressional staff and Department leadership on administrative and policy considerations.
  • Draft and clear official cable traffic to overseas posts regarding travel coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Department of State or a comparable federal environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting the legislative branch, Congressional engagement, or travel coordination.
  • Expert knowledge of federal travel regulations and Department of State travel policies.
  • Must be based in Washington, DC for onsite work.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with U.S. Embassies, Consulates, and interagency partners.
