What you will do

• Engage with data vendors to source, evaluate, and manage high-quality data for trading activities.
• Design and implement performant, scalable data pipelines and storage solutions.
• Develop automated data quality checks and alerting systems to monitor and troubleshoot issues.
• Implement access control and usage audit solutions to ensure data security and compliance.
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing necessary tools and resources.
• Collaborate with investment and trading teams to provide relevant and timely data access.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a similar field.
• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, preferably in the hedge fund industry.
• Proficiency in at least one static language such as Java or C#.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including best practices and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with the Apache data stack (Airflow, Spark, Kafka).
• Location: Must be based in Taipei.

Nice to have

• Experience with vendor management, price negotiation, and contract review.
• Familiarity with KDB or other specialized databases.
• Experience with storage cost optimization and data center hardware for high availability.
