What you will do
- Serve as the primary technical leader for front-end engineering, guiding architectural decisions and the long-term roadmap.
- Design and optimize UI components using React, Redux, TypeScript, and enterprise design systems.
- Oversee the integration of complex REST/SOAP APIs and VA enterprise services.
- Mentor mid-level developers through in-depth code reviews and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and backend teams to refine requirements.
- Create and maintain critical technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational guides.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of professional experience building production-grade applications with React and Redux.
- Strong expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern UI component patterns.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
- Experience with AWS, GitHub, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring teams.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting the VA, VA.gov platform, or other Federal agencies.
- Familiarity with VA enterprise systems (e.g., CorpDB, MPI, BDN, VBMS).
- Understanding of FedRAMP-compliant environments and government cloud infrastructure.
- Experience in large-scale refactoring and modernization initiatives.
