What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical leader for front-end engineering, guiding architectural decisions and the long-term roadmap.
• Design and optimize UI components using React, Redux, TypeScript, and enterprise design systems.
• Oversee the integration of complex REST/SOAP APIs and VA enterprise services.
• Mentor mid-level developers through in-depth code reviews and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and backend teams to refine requirements.
• Create and maintain critical technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational guides.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional experience building production-grade applications with React and Redux.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern UI component patterns.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with AWS, GitHub, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring teams.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting the VA, VA.gov platform, or other Federal agencies.
• Familiarity with VA enterprise systems (e.g., CorpDB, MPI, BDN, VBMS).
• Understanding of FedRAMP-compliant environments and government cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in large-scale refactoring and modernization initiatives.
