Focus on architecting performant UIs, diagnosing bottlenecks, integrating with high-throughput distributed systems, and mentoring engineers.

Location: Remote from anywhere in the U.S. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship. Preference for Atlanta-based candidates.

Salary: $175,000–$185,000

What you will do

• Architect and implement complex, performant, accessible mobile features and interaction flows in React Native.
• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of features from requirements to deployment and monitoring.
• Optimize app performance by resolving bottlenecks, reducing bundle size, and improving responsiveness.
• Define architectural decisions for mobile features, evaluating tradeoffs and communicating recommendations.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
• Improve best practices for component architecture, testing, accessibility, and deployment.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and other teams to scope technical solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotation for production incidents and reliability improvements.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience with significant React Native production apps.
• Proven ownership of complex multi-component mobile features in a team.
• Full mobile development lifecycle experience including app store submission and monitoring.
• Expert TypeScript for clean, type-safe code; deep React Native expertise in optimization, native modules, animations.
• Strong Expo ecosystem, monorepo tooling (Yarn workspaces), mobile testing (Jest, Maestro), CI/CD (EAS).
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users.
• Autonomous problem-solving, effective communication, fully remote organization experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools for coding, planning, scoping, and reviews.
• Integrating AI tooling into engineering workflows for team productivity.
