What you will do

• Own the end-to-end delivery of significant features and critical product components.
• Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines supporting core product functionality.
• Drive system design decisions, balancing scalability, performance, reliability, and cost.
• Define quality metrics, testing strategies, and observability, implementing automation where possible.
• Lead structured experimentation to translate hypotheses and insights into system improvements.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on technical guidance.

Requirements

• Must be based in Mexico.
• 6+ years of total experience in software engineering, with 5+ years of hands-on coding.
• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production systems within product teams.
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript for building APIs and services.
• Strong experience designing and scaling distributed systems in production environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD, and automated testing.

Nice to have

• Experience building data-driven or ML-enabled systems.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, streaming systems, or large-scale data processing.
• Exposure to modern AI tools or integrations.
• Contributions to open source, technical blogs, or conference talks.
