TL;DR

Embedded Software Engineer (Automotive/C): Developing low-level mechatronic infrastructure software for software-defined vehicles with an accent on the communication layer, BSW, and hardware-agnostic solutions. Focus on implementing embedded C code, performing SiL/HiL testing, and integrating AI-driven diagnostics to enhance software quality.

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in or be able to work on-site in Milford, Michigan (3 days/week)

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and debug embedded software using C for the communication layer of the infrastructure platform.
  • Develop and test software functionality ensuring hardware-agnostic solutions across all software platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, government regulations, and MISRA guidelines.
  • Utilize automated test tools, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-driven diagnostics for bug detection and predictive analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Cybersecurity, Safety, and Vehicle Performance.
  • Partner with suppliers to develop ECU-specific solutions for new technology.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical, Computer, or Computer Science Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded software development using C.
  • Proficiency in SiL, HiL, and vehicle-level testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture and BSW components.
  • Experience with Git and version control practices.
  • Must have valid US work authorization (no immigration sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a related engineering field.
  • 2+ years of specific automotive embedded software experience.
  • Experience with RTOS for multi-core microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR BSW layers (Communication, Memory, System Services).
  • Familiarity with Lauterbach, ETAS INCA, CANalyzer, and oscilloscopes.
