TL;DR

Tax Operations & Resource Manager (Tax): Overseeing tax production processes, workflow systems, resource allocation, and talent deployment across offices with an accent on efficiency, utilization, and compliance. Focus on managing e-filing, due dates, platforms like CCH Workflow and SurePrep, forecasting needs, and mentoring teams to mitigate risks and drive productivity.

Location: Somerset, NJ Hybrid. Ability to travel to assigned local offices for training and operational support as needed.

Compensation: $130K – $140K

What you will do

  • Oversee tax production processes including e-filing, return assembly, extensions, and information returns across offices and national pools.
  • Manage electronic filing, portals, rejections, SafeSend delivery, SurePrep binders, and CCH Workflow task management.
  • Drive due date management, deadline closure, and national backup support.
  • Develop resource allocation strategies, forecast needs, and align staffing with engagement requirements.
  • Track utilization metrics, prepare reports, identify risks, and improve processes.
  • Train, mentor Tax Operations Coordinators, conduct check-ins, and resolve conflicts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, Accounting, or related (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in tax operations, accounting, or resource management.
  • Strong understanding of tax workflows and compliance; advanced Microsoft Office (Excel preferred).
  • Working knowledge of CaseWare, Axcess Tax, GoSystem, CCH Document, GoFileRoom, Avalara, SurePrep, SafeSend, CCH Workflow (XCM).
  • Analytical skills, leadership, communication; ability to manage priorities under pressure.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons and travel to local offices.
