Location: Remote from US locations including Seattle, Reston, Field-WA SEA, Field-NY Metro, Field-CA BAY (61 locations total)

Salary: $246,400 - $369,600 annually

What you will do

• Design, test, and document baseline build patterns underpinning entire SaaS business, spanning datacenter footprint, hardware, automation, configurations, and telemetry.
• Produce comprehensive artifacts ensuring 99.99% availability, with clear KPIs, measurement strategies, and COGS analysis.
• Mentor engineering teams, act as escalation point, and advocate for infrastructure needs internally and externally.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and executives on roadmaps, trends, and strategic guidance.
• Prioritize execution, pivot between long-term architecture and near-term technical debt, ensuring successful deployment and operation.

Requirements

• 12+ years progressive webscale or carrier infrastructure engineering experience, designing for largest deployments
• Expertise in scale, availability, security, automation, and operational needs across substrates.
• Exceptional written and spoken English skills for technical and executive audiences.
• Strong ownership, relationship-building, transparency, and bias toward data-driven decisions.
• Nuanced understanding of internet landscape, compliance, supply chains, and predictive engineering needs.

• Industry recognition and relationships with key external contacts.
• Experience preventing ivory tower architecture through hands-on engagement.
