What you will do

• Design and maintain embedded firmware primarily in VHDL for cryptographic and security-critical platforms.
• Architect cryptographic information assurance systems, including security boundaries, trusted services, and function separation.
• Perform trade studies and embedded architecture design focusing on red-black separation, Security Monitors, and bus interfaces.
• Support the NSA High Assurance certification process through requirements decomposition, architecture definition, and artifact development.
• Develop and execute simulations and hardware-in-the-loop integration and acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve secure development tooling and automation.

Requirements

• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• 8+ years of embedded firmware development experience in VHDL.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with ARM/MicroBlaze-based processors and SoC platforms.
• Strong understanding of memory management, concurrency, and deterministic embedded behavior.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of embedded or firmware development experience.
• Direct experience with NSA High Assurance certification, RMF, or similar DoD security frameworks.
• Familiarity with AMD Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC (e.g., Xilinx ZCU102/104).
• Experience with cryptographic system design and secure boot/trust architectures.
