Business Intelligence & Data Engineering Intern

TL;DR

Business Intelligence & Data Engineering Intern: Support development of data solutions for informed business decisions with an accent on reporting, dashboard development, data preparation, and foundational data engineering. Focus on collecting and organizing data, building visualizations, automating tasks with Python, and supporting ETL activities.

Location: Hybrid in Lakewood, CO (3 days office, 2 remote). Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What you will do

• Collaborate on business intelligence and data engineering initiatives across the organization.
• Collect, organize, validate, and prepare data from multiple sources for reporting and analysis.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations for stakeholders.
• Perform basic scripting, automation, and data transformation using Python.
• Support data pipelines, ETL activities, and data quality troubleshooting.
• Document workflows and research best practices in BI and data engineering.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing bachelor’s in information systems, computer science, data/business analytics, engineering, or related field.
• Relevant coursework or projects in data, analytics, programming, or reporting.
• Basic Python programming skills.
• Foundational knowledge of data structures, databases, tables, and relationships.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated, organized; authorized to work full-time in the US.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SQL.
• Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Excel, or similar tools.
• Understanding of data pipelines or ETL concepts.
• Git or version control experience.
• Data visualization or reporting exposure.
